Can you show me what my smile can look like ahead of time with imaging software?

Yes we can. We believe it's important for you to understand what your smile can look like with our computer imaging system. We can take a picture of your smile as it is today with our intraoral camera, feed that image into our computer imaging system, and then program the computer to show us how your smile can be improved. In fact, we'll let you keep your before and after photos to help you think about this exciting dental procedure at home with your family and friends.

Crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays, and partials. where can I learn more about these procedures?

All of these procedures can change the look of your smile. At your next appointment, Dr. Cobb will be happy to explain any of them to you. While you're there, you can also watch an interactive video or computer program that explains these techniques in a way that is easy to understand. In the meantime, you can also visit the website of the American Dental Association at www.ada.org to find out more.

I want my front teeth to look better, but I don't want to wear braces. What would you recommend?

If your teeth are crooked, you don't necessarily need braces. When you come in for a consultation, we can talk to you about several other options, including porcelain veneers. If you're a candidate for this sort of treatment, the whole process will take about two weeks rather than two years, as is usually the case with braces.

How can I whiten my teeth?

If you're like most of our patients, you want the simplest way possible to whiten your smile. Our revolutionary in-office whitening system, ZOOM! whitens your teeth in about an hour. Patients can sit back and enjoy their favorite movie while their teeth become whiter and brighter. By the end of the appointment, most patients have achieved a seven to nine shade difference in their smile. The single appointment procedure is quick and easy, allowing you to get back to your busy life with a brilliant white smile the same day.

We also offer the take-home whitening system, which allows you to whiten your teeth over five to seven days. Please come in for a consultation to discuss how we can whiten and brighten your smile.

I don't like drills. Are there any other options?

For cavities in the early stages, we can use a laser or air abrasion instead of a drill. Both of these techniques allow for pain-free caries removal that is fast and easy. Come in and give us a try!

My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?

Yes, it might mean you have gum disease. Bleeding is not a sign of optimal oral health. Our goal is to have you keep your teeth healthy for a lifetime. That's why we stress preventive periodontal assessments where we check your gums on a regular basis. We want your periodontal condition to be at its healthiest so that you can keep your natural teeth for as long as possible.

I really don't like going to the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?

We understand that some patients are very nervous about going to the dentist. For most patients a little nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and a CD of their choice works wonders, but we also offer IV sedation for those who would prefer to be asleep while a dental procedure is being performed.
